Sauce Yassa (Slow Braised Chicken) & Vermicelli Jasmine Rice
Sauce Yassa is considered by many to be West African comfort food at its finest. You can find many styles of this dish throughout the different countries in the region, but we're especially excited to bring you Chef Veronique's home recipe. She first creates her magical marinade that is full of fresh herbs, garlic, lemon juice, jalapeno peppers, and of course yellow mustard. Chicken drumsticks are then marinated and carefully sautéed to create a light brown exterior. The final step is a slow braise of the chicken with fresh veggies and caramelized onions, creating tender fall-off-the-bone chicken that is full of savory, tangy, and spicy flavors.
